Every two years, the Democratic Party of Virginia requires a reorganization of every Committee in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and 2017 is that year. HDC CALL TO CAUCUS
On November 14, 2017 the HDC Executive Board met to approve our Call to Caucus for reorganizing and to arrange our Annual Holiday Celebration.

The HDC Bylaws and Party Plan also provide this guidance –
A member or associate shall not be required to pay the dues specified in this section if he or she certifies in writing that such payment would be a financial hardship. This request may be made via snail mail or via email no later than December 12, 2017.
ARTICLE 5. ELECTION OF THE COMMITTEES
As set forth on the “Party Plan”, the committee shall be elected by the Democratic voters of Hampton during periods between the first Saturday in December in odd numbered years and the Wednesday of the following January.
The filing deadline for candidates is 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12th, 2017.

Membership and Pre-filing forms must be received by the deadline to the HDC Secretary Quena Dailey /Asst. Secretary Renee Browder with the $25 dollars annual dues to be submitted either through ACTBLUE or to the HDC Treasurer George Luce. There is a $10 Filing Fee for those who wish to run for an executive board position.
At the December 12th, 2017 Holiday Party, everyone who have submitted a complete application prior to the party will be voted into membership of the HDC. An Assembled Caucus will be held on December 16, 2017 @ the Charles Taylor Arts Center, 4205 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, VA from 10AM – 11AM to nominate new officers, if needed.
At the January 9, 2018 committee meeting the HDC membership will elect new officers for the 2018-2019 term (Executive Board and Precinct Captains).
If applications or dues waivers are not received by the Dec. 12th deadline, you will not have an opportunity to join until the January 2018 meeting where you will have the opportunity to apply or renew your membership but unable to vote for officers.
